Our Team
Mr. Blue graduated from the University of Alabama in 1972 with a B.S. in Industrial Management from the School of Commerce and Business Administration. He has held a RM designation and was a candidate for the MAI and SRA designation in Real Estate Appraising. From 1970 until 1996, John was a principal and director of G.W. Jones & Sons, Inc., a family owned regional engineering, appraisal, and development firm founded in 1886; and, a firm that played a leading role in the transition of Huntsville from a small cotton mill town to a thriving internationally renowned aerospace and industrial center.
John was involved in the design of Huntsville International Airport while at G.W. Jones & Sons, Inc. He was active in the development of many apartment complexes, office parks, and residential subdivisions. During his tenure, he was directly involved with the success of G.W. Jones & Sons in the planning, development and financing of over $50 million of retail, office and residential development.
John W. Blue

Mr. Blue is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a B.S. in Finance from the School of Commerce and Business Administration. He is a licensed real estate professional in the State of Alabama. John oversees project management and financing in the Company’s real estate development activities. He is also an associate leasing agent for the Company’s retail and office divisions, and manages development databases, brochure and financial package layouts, financial modeling and coordination of development marketing. Mr. Blue is experienced with most all real estate management and investment software, and attends upgrade seminars and workshops to remain up to date of the latest technology.
Barry Looser

Mr. Looser joined the company in July of 2003 with more than 16 years of commercial real estate sales and leasing experience. His primary focus is managing ongoing development of the company’s retail and office business client base through leasing, sales, and build-to-suits. He has managed over one million square feet of retail and office space in Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama. His real estate profession allows him the opportunity to attend various ICSC conventions and meetings throughout the country. Mr. Looser is working toward his CCIM, with his first course complete. He continues to keep abreast of the commercial real estate market with his involvement in NALCOM, a North Alabama commercial real estate broker association.

Sydnee joined in March of 2021 to manage marketing efforts and public relations events for John Blue Realty. She transitioned into the role of property manager after only six months of being a part of the team, and she has continued to maintain all marketing for John Blue, despite having taken on a variety of different responsibilities and roles. She is passionate about helping her tenants, and coworkers, solving whatever problems may arise.

Mr. Farquhar has been associated with the founding team members since 1995 and is a valuable contributor to the company’s growth. Karen joined the company in 2005, as office manager, to coordinate, organize, and manage the day-to-day operations of the office. Before moving to Huntsville, Karen worked for eleven years for one of the nation's largest privately held construction firms in various positions - most recently as an executive assistant for the C.E.O and President. With over forty-five years of administrative experience, she is versatile and efficient in the daily operations of the company. She is well-rounded in the application of office procedures due to her experience in administration. Karen completed and passed the NSRE real estate course to familiarize herself with Alabama Real Estate guidelines.
Chip Pepper

Chip Pepper is an experienced professional with a Bachelor's degree in building construction from Auburn University. He holds contractor's licenses in Alaska, Alabama, Florida, and Hawaii. Chip has held significant roles in construction management, including manager of construction for Chugach Alaska Corporation and vice president of J.O. Delotto & Sons. In 2011, he became President of Falcon International, Inc., overseeing various functions in the construction industry. He also owned his own commercial construction company and managed the west coast of Florida for Brice Building Company. Currently, he serves as construction manager and general contractor for Blue Development Company, overseeing all development projects.
